SOLAS NUA PRESENTS:

KÍLA • VIRTUAL CONCERT

SATURDAY, SEPT. 26

Solas Nua regulars are familiar with the haunting music of band founding member, musician, and poet Rónán Ó Snodaigh, whose unique and ever-evolving sound, while rooted in Irish tradition, is inspired by a myriad of musical influences from around the world. Kíla’s members join him from differing musical backgrounds -- Irish traditional, classical, folk, and rock.

Kíla are bringing their unique live sound to specially selected U.S. and Canadian festivals and venues through an exclusive online hour-long concert on Sept. 26. This is Kíla’s first U.S. engagement since highlighting the Folk Alliance International in New Orleans in January. A planned tour in North America had to be postponed due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Formed in Dublin in 1988, Kíla have played in over 35 countries and at festivals like the Montreux Jazz Festival; Edmonton Folk festival in Canada; WOMAD festivals in New Zealand, Spain and Australia; RWMF in Malaysia; Festival de Ortigueira in Spain; the Sziget Festival in Hungary; the Electric Picnic in Ireland; Glastonbury, Cambridge Folk Festival;  Boomtown in the UK. They are in the soundtracks of several feature films.

The concert will be free with a suggested donation of $10 to Kíla via PayPal to cover the band’s costs.
