On Tuesday night, Solas Nua Capital Irish Film Festival in partnership with the NYU Brademas Center, and in association with the Northern Ireland Bureau presented “An Evening with the 2023 Oscar-Winning Artists Tom Berkeley & Ross White of An Irish Goodbye” at NYU Washington DC. The evening was an opportunity to honor the legacy of Norman Houston and a celebration of Tom Berkeley and Ross White and their Oscar-winning short action film An Irish Goodbye, the inaugural Norman Houston Short Film Award winner in 2022.
Sincere thanks to Tom Berkeley and Ross White, for traveling to DC to share their film and its incredible journey with us. Huge thanks to Alex Ford and all at Floodlight Pictures for their help in making the screening possible. Sincere gratitude to our partners at The NYU Brademas Center, Director, Programming and Outreach, Tom McIntyre, and his staff Polly Terzian and Dewayne Stewart; the Northern Ireland Bureau, North America, Director Andrew Elliot and Deputy Director, Eamonn Mc Conville, and the staff of the Bureau. A special shout to our dedicated CIFF Volunteers, Linda Keenan, Camilla Madden, and Gregory Bilberry who gave of their time so graciously. And thanks to our photographer, DJ Corey, and to everyone who helped make last night’s special event happen.
