Introducing Maedhbh Mc Cullagh!
Solas Nua's new Director of the Capital Irish Film Festival
The board and staff are delighted to welcome our new Director of the Capital Irish Film Festival, Maedhbh Mc Cullagh. This position, supported by the Government of Ireland's Emigrant Support Program, will see CIFF grow and evolve in line with Solas Nua's recent expansion and vision to commission, produce and present thought-provoking, ground-breaking work from Irish and Ireland-based artists.
"As an Irish creative producer and cultural programmer, I have great admiration for the work of Solas Nua and the important platform that the festival provides for Irish filmmakers in the US. I am excited to join the Solas Nua team and bring the breadth of my skills and experiences to support the work of Irish cinematic arts." - Maedhbh Mc Cullagh.
CIFF's curation and presentation of Irish filmmakers will be bigger and bolder than ever in 2023! This year we reached a new record for film submissions and are excited to present a program highlighting the Irish language, social change, and issues around migration.

We are also hugely grateful for the ongoing support from Assistant Festival Producer Seán Wrenn and of course the tremendous work that the former Festival Director, Pat Reilly, put into building CIFF over the last six years. It's this incredible work and vision that we will now build upon.
Your support enables us to elevate this longstanding festival, drawing returning favorites and new talent while expanding the scope of our programming. Donate today to support international film in the DMV, and stay tuned for CIFF 2023 passes coming soon!
With gratitude,
Miranda Driscoll
